a·loof·ly, adverb
a·loof·ness, noun

Aloof is best used when talking about someone or describing someone.

Our word is a lot like distant but it's different in that distant means far away from and aloof means indifferent or not like others, "that person is very far from us"(distant) "that person is shy and he is not like us" (aloof)

Our word is the opposite of outgoing.

We would give aloof a 4 out of 5 stars.
